Next Generation Leader The Next Generation Leader Boot Camp for elementary school students is intended to be a
FUN after-school activity for students to learn about leadership, responsibility, teamwork, camaraderie, and serve as a basic introduction to the military.
In accordance with the schedule, EEYP will build the stamina,
confidence, and leadership skills of participating students, referred to as "cadets." They will
learn the fundamentals of team building, personal accountability and
responsibility, while striving for excellence. The “Daily 7” exercises
or calistenics are intended to strengthen the stamina and physical fitness of cadets. Each
cadet works to his or her best level of performance, but will be
encouraged to continue exercising to improve
themselves. As cadets are introduced to leadership traits, they will
be able to apply the same principles to making important decisions
thereafter in elementary, middle, and high school, which will shape
their future. There will be no hazing or harsh
treatment that can be associated with actual military basic training.
There will be at least two DIs present at any time, to isolate and
mitigate any disruptions.
Cadets should wear comfortable clothing appropriate for physical
fitness training and go-fasters (sneakers). As part of their enrollment, cadets will receive a t-shirt with the school name and logo, a baseball cap with logo, identifcation tags, a compass, a belt and canteen, and upon completion a Certifcate of Achievment. It will be their
responsibility to bring their t-shirts and caps for each day
thereafter. The Next Generation Leader Boot Camps are coordinated through individual elementary schools and during the summer through various venues, such as the Bear Chase Brewery Company. Click on images to enlarge
